Dr. Waltraud Gudrian is originally from Germany. She achieved her undergraduate degree in Economic Sciences and completed a masters degree in Sociology at the Free (Freie) University of Berlin. She left Germany for Paris, France, where she worked as a counselor in special education, then she immigrated to Canada, where she finished a PhD in German literature in the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures at the University of Montreal, Quebec. She also got a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies, connected to her PhD, at the Centre of Canadian and European Studies, in Montreal. Before joining Henderson State University in 2008, she was Instructor of German at George Brown College in Toronto, and Instructor of German and French at Clarion University, in Pennsylvania.
