John Webb
John Webb is a native of Arkansas and holds degrees from Henderson
State University where he was a student of Dwayne
Sagen and Don Kramer. Webb is currently the Director of Bands at Benton High
School, Arkansas, and has served as President of the Arkansas Bandmasters
Association. In 2000 he was named Bandmaster of the Year by the Arkansas
Bandmasters Association and in 1985 he was Teacher of the Year at Camden Fairview
High School.
Webb is on the executive board of the Arkansas School Band and Orchestra Association and has been Region Chairman and Parliamentarian. He is also a member of the National Federation of Interscholastic Music Association and Phi Beta Mu. For fourteen years Webb served as director of the Arkansas FFA Band. In addition to teaching at Henderson, Webb has also taught trumpet at Ouachita Baptist University.
A member of the Miss Arkansas Orchestra for sixteen years, he has played in bands for many many touring performers, including James Brown, Tom Jones, B. J. Thomas, Phyllis Diller, Sammy Davis, Jr., Donald O'Connor, Patty Page, and Cathy Riggs. In 1974 he was the lead trumpet in the nationally televised Miss Teenage America Pageant.
Webb is currently a member of the South Arkansas Symphony Orchestra and the Arkansas Brass.
